IT45147: ADDING OR MONITORING STORAGE DEVICES USING SSH AUTHENTICATION FAILS AFTER DECEMBER 4Q23 STORAGE INSIGHTS UPDATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Adding or monitoring storage devices using SSH authentication
  rather than user name and password does not work after the 4Q23
  Storage Insights update deployed in December.  Test Connection
  and Data Collection (probe and performance monitor) fail.
  
  Data Collector Version = Build 20231130-0628
  
  The ssh.jar file used in the Data collectors does not work
  correctly with Java 17.
  

Local fix

• Circumvent this problem by changing the connection method to
  user name and password to regain connectivity.  Right click the
  device and select Connections > Modify Connection.  Change the
  Authentication field from "Secure Shell (SSH)" to "User Name and
  Password" and enter the appropriate credentials.
  
  If switching to user name and password authentication is not an
  option, contact IBM Support for another possible workaround.
