APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After upgrading queue manager to MQ 9.3 each MQ process consumed
more memory
when compared with queue manager processes running on MQ 9.2 and
lower MQ versions.
The  "ps -elf" output gathered after upgrading to MQ 9.3 shows
 a significantly larger
process size (SZ) for MQ all processes.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A defect in calculating the size of memory allocated for
tracking heap usage in MQ caused increased memory usage in MQ
processes.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • MQ code has been modified to resolve the defect, thereby
reducing the memory usage.
