APAR status

Error description

  • Sybase DBMS Identifier has changed from "SQL Server" to
    "Adaptive Server Enterprise" causing an abend.  An update to
    handle this change is required.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    All Users of IBM Integration Bus V10.1, App Connect Enterprise
    V11 or App Connect Enterprise V12 who have updated to Sybase 16
    SP03 or higher.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    This problem will happen to any user who updates to Sybase 16
    SP03 or higher and it has been caused by Sybase changing its
    'database type name'. It used to return "SQL Server" but now
    returns "Adaptive Server Enterprise" This unexpected change by
    Sybase means that ACE/IIB no longer recognises that it is
    interacting with a Sybase database and so all the customisation
    within the ACE/IIB code for interacting with Sybase is not
    triggered.
    

Problem conclusion

  • IBM App Connect Enterprise and IBM Integration Bus now detect
    this change and recognise that it is interacting with a Sybase
    database.
