APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Damage of scratchpad prevents the channel associated with the
    scratchpad from starting. The deletion of the channel and
    rebuilding the channel sync data with rcrmqobj likely to fail
    with unexpected error.
    

Local fix

  • * Stop the queue manager
    * Replaced the damaged scratchpad files with the scratchpad
    files from most recent
      queue manager backup
    * Start the queue manager

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The queue manager did not allow the channel to be deleted if the
    associated scratchpad was damaged.The queue manager should allow
    the channel to be deleted so that a new channel can be created
    and started.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ code has been modified to provide an option to delete the
    damaged scratchpad so that the channel can be started or
    deleted. Contact IBM support for details on recovering channel
    associated with damaged scratchpad.
