  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus job log collection returns below
    error:
    
    A network error has occurred. Contact your network
    administrator to confirm the validity of your network.
    
    The virgo log shows following exception:

    There are no virgo logs within the timeframe the job was
    executed. For example, if the job was run two days ago, the
    oldest entry in the virgo log is from 1 day ago. That should
    cause the virgo log to be empty in the log collection, however,
    above exception is seen in the logs.

Problem conclusion

  • In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus before 10.1.15.3, if the Virgo log
    had rotated (where the earliest timestamp in the Virgo log was
    after the end of a job's completion time), the virgo/ directory
    was missing in a job's log download. In IBM Spectrum Protect
    Plus 10.1.15.3, the virgo/ directory is now included, which has
    an empty Virgo log and a populated log that records that no
    Virgo logs could be found for the job (a parser log that states
    that the earliest timestamp in the Virgo is after the job's
    completion time).
