APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Attempts to upload system logs from storage devices using
    Storage Insights fail to actually upload the logs.  No log
    packages are generated on the storage device.  The command to
    collect the logs on the storage device is not run because no
    primary data collector can be found.  There is no other
    indication in Storage Insights that the data collector is not
    available for the device.  Data Collection runs fine.
    
    dcm error Primary DC is missing, can't execute system action,
    mark it as such <device_ID> <tenant_ID> UPLOAD_SYSTEM_LOGS No
    primary collector found for device <device_ID> on tenant
    <tenant_ID>. Can't start task.
    

Local fix

  • Contact IBM Support.  Collect and upload logs directly from the
    storage device as a workaround.
