IT44320: VSPHERE PLUG-IN REGISTRATION FAILS IN DATA PROTECTION FOR VMWARE 8.1.19.0 ON MICROSOFT WINDOWS

Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environment: Data Protection
  for VMware plug-in registration does not work correctly on
  Microsoft Windows.
  
  The initial problem is due to an incorrect path in the
  register_vcenter_extension.cmd script. The script sets the
  JAVA_PATH environment variable to
  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tivoli\TSM\jvm8080\jre\bin
  However, the correct path is
  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tivoli\TSM\jvm80800\jre\bin
  
  Another problem occurs if the path is manually corrected and
  then the script is re-run. Although the plug-in registration
  succeeds, the ensuing deployment in the vCenter fails. The
  following message is logged in the vCenter virgo log:
  
  [ERROR] plugin-discovery-bus-thread   com.vmware.vise.vim
  .extension.discovery.VcPackagesDiscoverer      Error creating  a
  VcRemotePluginPackageInfo from extension with id com.ibm.tsm
  .tdpvmware.IBMDataProtection:8.1.19.0null. The passed extension
  didn't contain valid data   java.lang.NumberFormatException: For
  input string: "0null"   at
  java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString
  (NumberFormatException.java:65)
  
  A similar message is displayed in the vSphere UI tasks.
