IT44275: IBM SPECTRUM PROTECT PLUS UI USER CANNOT VIEW ANY SQL/EXCHANGE ENVIRONMENT DATA OR JOBS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus UI user has VIEW permissions but
  cannot view any Microsoft SQL/EXCHANGE environments or jobs.
  When trying to access Microsoft SQL/EXCHANGE environments or
  jobs, the following pop-up error is displayed:
  
  "Authorization Exception
  
   You do not have the necessary permissions to carry out the
   requested operation. Contact your administrator to ensure the
   required roles and resource groups are assigned to your user
   account."
  
  The "Databases/File Systems" section is missing from the create
  role window starting with IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.14.

Problem conclusion

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.14 changed the Role-Based Access
  Control (RBAC) roles available for users (removing the
  Container-based roles), but a User Interface (UI) bug causes
  users not to be able to view the SQL or Exchange information in
  their IBM Spectrum Protect Plus UI even if they have the proper
  view permissions. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.15.1 and
  10.1.16 fixes this bug, allowing users to view the SQL and
  Exchange jobs in the UI properly.
