APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If there has been corruption of an MQ trace file, then the
dspmqtrc program that processes the file can write many lines of
    output similar to:

Unrecognised hookID:0x0 at file offset 0x422010

But really only one such line is needed, plus a further line of
output saying when the corruption has been passed over.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of dspmqtrc when formatting a .TRC file that has had some
corruption (the corruption itself is not the subject of this
    APAR).

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The error text emitted from dspmqtrc to stdout was too verbose
about each time it tried and failed to obtain a new starting
point after some file corruption in the .TRC file. Then it did
not make it clear that a new good starting point had been found,
    and successful processing had re-started.

Problem conclusion

  • The error text emitted from dspmqtrc to stdout has been changed
    in two ways:
    - It is now not verbose about each time it tries and fails to
obtain a new starting point after some file corruption in the
    .TRC file.
    - A new line of output is written when a new good starting point
is found in the .TRC fle, and successful processing has
    re-started.
