APAR status

Error description

  • Prior to the 2Q23 update being deployed, customer tried to
    configure data collection of device via call home cloud service
    and clicked the Approve button in the toast notification.
    Since the device was already added in Storage Insights(data
    collection happening via Data Collector), so nothing happened
    but the click on  approve created an entry for the device in
    Call Home Storage Systems.Post the 2Q23 update being
    deployed, when customer tried to configure device with call
    home cloud service the Toast notification/Option to switch data
    Collection from Data Collector to Call home with Cloud Service
    is not triggered, and thus the migration of data collection from
    Data Collector to Call Home with cloud services cannot be
    initiated.

    * Prior to the 2Q23 update being deployed, if a customer       *
    * attempted to configure data collection of a device via       *
    * Call Home Cloud Services, and clicked the "Approve"          *
    * button in the notification, there was a chance the           *
    * operation would fail, and cause failure in the future when   *
    * attempting to migrate off of using a Data Collector.         *

    * This happened since the device was already added in          *
    * Storage Insights (and data collection was occurring via      *
    * Data Collector), so nothing happened when customer           *
    * clicked on "Approve", however, Storage Insights created      *
    * an entry for the device in "Call Home Storage Systems".      *
    * Following the 2Q23 update being deployed, when               *
    * customer tried to configure device with Call Home Cloud      *
    * Services the notification / option to switch data Collection *
    *                                                              *
    * from Data Collector to Call home with Cloud Service is       *

    This issue is a race-condition where the event of attempting
    migration to Call Home Storage Systems occurred before
    the 2Q23 update of Storage Insights.
