Error description

• Presently, the ACE Code by default forces MQTT 3.1 which might
  not work well with newer standards-compliant MQTT Systems.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) code presently forces the use
  of MQTT 3.1 by default. Although the JAR File(s) that come
  bundled with ACE can support MQTT 3.1.1, the default was still
  to use MQTT 3.1. This resulted in, among others, ACE being
  unable to communicate with newer standard compliant components
  using MQTT functionality.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Product has now been modified to support  MQTT 3.1.1 by
  default. A new Environment Variable MQSI_MQTT_FORCE_3_1 has been
  added which if set, forces the use of MQTT 3.1 version (the
  Environment Variable has been added for backwards
  compatibility).
