Error description

  • The following errors may be generated in the IBM MQ Appliance
v9.3.x default-log and diag-log when the status part of the SNMP
    MIB is queried, e.g. mqStatusQueueManagersStatusTable.

    20230412T103434.885Z [0x82e00005][b2bp][error] : tid(218991):The
    persistence store is not running

    20230519T195336.589Z [0x88c0028b][apigw][error] : tid(2176847):
No rate-limit gateway peering is set in gateway
    peering manager.

Local fix

  • The error messages can be suppressed from the default-log by
creating an Event Suppression Filter to exclude the 0x82e00005
and 0x88c0028b event codes. Unfortunately, the same cannot be
    achieved with the diag-log.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
Users querying SNMP MIB against an IBM MQ Appliance

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The IBM MQ Appliance firmware was incorrectly attempting to
query the objects b2bp and apigw that are not applicable to MQ
when the user issued a query to get SNMP MIB. This caused
unexpected error messages related to b2bp and apigw objects to
    be generated in the logs.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ Appliance firmware has been changed to ensure only
the status objects relevant to MQ are queried.
