APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An SLA is configured to a non-default primary site, like
secondary site. When editing the SLA and making no change, the
site is automatically changed to default primary site after
simply clicking the Save button. This causes a new base backup
to the vSnap associated with default primary site. When manually
changing back to correct site, a new base backup is triggered
again as previous backup uses a different site.


Versions affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus v10.1.14

Local fix

  • Do not edit the SLA. If an SLA must be edited, re-select the
correct site no matter it is displayed as correct one or not
before clicking Save button.

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus SLA editing screen was fixed. When
editing an SLA, the site value will retain the currently set
site value.
