APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • While monitoring a DS8000 storage device that encountered a
    hardware failure resulting in a CEC down condition, the data
    collection status still showed as "running" even though the
    probe did not complete successfully.  The probe status was
    "unknown" and the performance monitor status was "running",
    resulting in an overall data collection status of "running".
    Becasue the probe did not complete successfully, the device
    condition was also not up to date and did not indicate a
    failure.  Given the hardware failure that occurred, it was
    unexpected that Storage Insights should look like everything was
    ok.
