  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A managed .NET client using distributed transactions and
MQCNO_HANDLE_SHARE_NONE set on the connect options, reports
    MQRC_HCONN_ERROR (2018) in Windows. MQRC_HCONN_ERROR (2018) is
thrown after MSTDC creates a new thread for Commit.

Local fix

  • Connect option MQCNO_HANDLE_SHARE_BLOCK can be used as a
    workaround.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A managed .NET client using distributed transactions and
MQCNO_HANDLE_SHARE_NONE set on the connect options, gives
MQRC_HCONN_ERROR (2018) in Windows. The problem occurred when a
new thread, which is created by MSTDC to perform commit tried to
    acquire a mutex. As MQCNO_HANDLE_SHARE_NONE creates a non-shared
connection, the new thread could not acquire the lock, which
resulted in the MQRC_HCONN_ERROR (2018) error response.

Problem conclusion

  • The coding error which caused the MQRC_HCONN_ERROR(2018) has
been corrected so that the application an perform a commit when
    distributed transaction is used.
