APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The installation of Spectrum Protect server displays error
messages about xlC software although the version of xlC software
meets minimum version.

ERROR:
com.tivoli.dsm.prereq.server.EnvironmentCheck.validateAIX(133) :
xlC.rte version (16.1.0.10) does not meet minimum requirement
(16.1.0.7)

xlC.rte 16.1.0.10 is already installed on AIX before the
installation is run.

IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
All supported versions of IBM Spectrum Servers on AIX supported
platforms whose xlC.rte version is 16.1.0.10.

Local fix

  • Execute install.sh command with "-DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true".
Console Mode:  install.sh -c -vmargs
"-DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true"
GUI Mode    :  install.sh -g -vmargs
"-BYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true"
