Error description

  • When performing file restore of a file on Linux file system,
like /home, it fails with following error:

Failed to restore files (/home/test.txt) on host (linux-vm)
(File does not exist under specified mount point).

During file restore, another filesystem, like /usr, is mounted
instead of /home, so the file /home/test.txt cannot be found on
mounted volume. The issue is the shared partition between the
different LVs. This causes the primary keys to be the same and
the wrong logical volume (LV) information is retrieved.

Versions affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus v10.1.*

    Additional keywords: TS012144130 SPP

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that Linux virtual machine file
restore can be completed successfully, when the source files are
located on multiple logical volumes of the same
    "ID_FS_LABEL_ENC" values.
