Error description

  • When using the SAP Request Node to make outbound BAPI calls, in
some circumstances the following error may be observed:
    BIP3484E: 'com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (108)
JCO_ERROR_INTERNAL: <FUNCTIONNAME> function could not be queried
    for an unknown reason

    javax.resource.ResourceException: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException:
    (108) JCO_ERROR_INTERNAL:<FUNCTIONNAME> function could not be
    queried for an unknown reason

This is believed to be caused by a threading issue in some
versions of the JCo library, in order to workaround the problem
this APAR introduces the environment variable:

    MQSI_ADAPTER_SAP_LOCK_GETFUNCTION

When set to any non-null value this causes calls to get the
function defintion to be single threaded.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When using the SAP Request Node to make outbound BAPI calls, in
some circumstances the following error may be observed:
    BIP3484E: 'com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (108)
JCO_ERROR_INTERNAL: <FUNCTIONNAME> function could not be queried
    for an unknown reason

    javax.resource.ResourceException: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException:
    (108) JCO_ERROR_INTERNAL:<FUNCTIONNAME> function could not be
    queried for an unknown reason

This is believed to be caused by a threading issue in some
    versions of the JCo library.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem may be resolved by updating to the latest version of
the SAP provided JCo library. If this is not possible, this APAR
    introduces the environment variable:

    MQSI_ADAPTER_SAP_LOCK_GETFUNCTION

When set to any non-null value this causes calls to get the
function definition to be single threaded avoiding the issue.
