APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When IBM Spectrum Protect Plus db2 restore to alternative
    location job is started with a point-in-time type
    
    then the job may finish with an error. The job log reports Db2
    error SQL4910N for the rollforward operation:
    
    ERROR, xxxxxxx CTGGH0162, Finished Db2 restore operation with
    errors
    ERROR, xxxxxxx The Db2 rollforward processing for database xxxx
    ended with error: SQL4910N
    
    
    The command log for the restore job contains an error like
    this:
    SQL4910N Overflow log path
    "/mnt/spp/vsnap/vspool1/fs383/xxxxx/xxxxx/xxxxx" is not valid

    IBM Spectrum Protect Plus versions 10.1.2 and later

    * Apply fixing level when available. This problem is currently *
    * projected to be fixed in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus level     *
    * 10.1.14.1 and 10.1.15. Note that this is subject to change   *
    * at the discretion of IBM.                                    *

    The problem is caused by the different instance owner user IDs
    for source and target Db2 instances.
    

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus for Db2 agent was fixed to work with
    any database instance owner user IDs of the restored database.
