    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When an application such as the IBM MQ Console uses the Inquire
Queue administration command to inquire a list of queues using a
generic queue name, then a 2085 (MQRC_UNKNOWN_OBJECT_NAME) error
was returned by the queue manager.

This issue could occur if a queue was deleted whilst the Inquire
Queue command was being run. It could also occur if an
unrelated bug caused the queue manager to return an invalid
queue, such as a GHOST queue, to the command server.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ code was corrected so that invalid or deleted queue
objects are ignored if found during an inquire queue operation,
rather than returning an error to the application.
