APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus restore of a Windows virtual
    machine on VMware is running with following settings:
     1. Set destination "Alternate Host or Cluster", and in the
     2. Sub menu "Set network" with option "Add mappings for subnets
         and IP addresses for VM guest OS on destination".
    
    in the restored VM those settings are not changed.
    And as result the IP Address remain the same from your original
    source (Backup) VM.
    
    Affected versions: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.12 and later
    
    Note: Issue on IBM Spectrum Protect Plus restore of a Linux
    virtual machine on VMware, see APAR IT43127.
    

Local fix

  • Change manually the IP Address from the new restored machine.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that the IP address of the
    restored Windows virtual machine can be changed to the new IP
    address.
