APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus upgrade from ISO file while no
    internet access on server than it may skip admin console
    packages.
    The following packages are included in admin console ,
     
    spp-adminconsole
    spp-catalogmanager
    spp-emi
     
     The log file upgrade-manager.log shows below messages -
    
    <Timestamp> - INFO - Running command: /usr/bin/yum -q
    --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=spprepo groupinfo adminui
    <Timestamp> - ERROR - No packages in the group adminui
    <Timestamp> - INFO - Cleaning yum cache...
    <Timestamp> - INFO - Checking available update for group:
    adminui
    
     
    yum groupinfo adminui shows below output with no = with
    package name.
    
    Group: adminui
     Group-Id: adminui
     Installed Packages:
     
     spp-adminconsole
     
      spp-emi
      
    spp-catalogmanager
     
    
     
    The issue is the packages have been unmarked (no "=" next to
    package) and won't get updated.
     
    IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.x

Local fix

  • Manually download the admin console packages with respect to
    version on Spectrum Protect Plus Server to /tmp location and
    update ,
     
    https://public.dhe.ibm.com/storage/spplus/
     
    spp-adminconsole-10.1.x-x.noarch.rpm 
    spp-emi-10.1.x-x.noarch.rpm 
    spp-catalogmanager-10.1.x-x.noarch.rpm 
     
     
    rpm -Uvh <rpm package>
    Or
    yum localinstall --disablerepo=* <rpm package>
     
    Then mark each package,
     
    yum group mark packages adminui <package name>
