APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If application managed tape encryption is enabled via the
    DRIVEENCRYPTION=ON option of the devclass, and IBM Spectrum
    Protect server is installed or upgraded to 8.1.16.100 or
    8.1.17.0, the following error occurs when the server tries to
    use a scratch tape:
    ANR8302E I/O error on drive DRIVE05 (/dev/IBMtape1) with volume
    A01022 (OP=WRITE, Error Number=1, CC=0, rc =  2870, KEY= 07,
    ASC=EF, ASCQ= 11,

    and it becomes impossible to use or re-use scratch volume.
    That only affects 3592 generation 2 or later tape drive models.
