Error description

  • An MQ input node is consuming messages from a remote queue
    manager using MQEndpoint policy configured on the node. The
    MQEndpoint policy is configured to allow reconnect.

    When 'Allow Reconnect' is enabled a new return code is possible
    MQRC_RECONNECT_FAILED, but this return code is not listed in the
    set of return codes which require the connection to be re-made
    so ACE does not disconnect and re-connect so no more messages
    are delivered to the input node.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    MQ input node can be configured to consume messages from a
    remote queue manager using MQEndpoint policy configured on the
    node.

    When 'Allow Reconnect' option is enabled in MQEndpoint policy,
    a new return code MQRC_RECONNECT_FAILED is possible, however,
    this return code is not listed in the set of return codes which
    require the connection to be re-established. So when the
    connection errors out with MQRC_RECONNECT_FAILED, the message
    flow does not attempt re-connection to the remote queue manager,
    and therefore no further messages are delivered to the input
    node. Following error is typically observed in the logs:

    BIP2628W: Exception condition detected on input node
    'xxxxxxxxx'.
    BIP2680E: Failed to setup a MQ control callback for component
    'yyyyyyyyy' to queue 'AAAAAA' on queue manager 'ZZZZ': MQCC=2;
    MQRC=2548.

Problem conclusion

  • Product now handles MQRC_RECONNECT_FAILED return code and allows
    connection to be re-established with the queue manager.
