Error description

  • There needs to be a TCP/IPServer policy per each TCP/IPServer
input nodes. All TCP/IPServer input nodes should be able to
inherit node properties from a Default TCP/IPServer policy.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of App Connect Enterprise V12 using TCPIPServer nodes.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If a user has multiple TCPIPServer nodes configured with
different ports, then he may need to create a policy for each
TCPIPServer node even though the nodes have the same
configurations(for eg: SSL settings) apart from the port number.

Problem conclusion

  • With the fix, if the port value is set as zero, The TCPIPServer
nodes will be able to inherit the properties from the default
policy apart from the port number.

Following is how one can use a single policy with multiple
TCPIPSever nodes having different port numbers.

    1. Create a Default.TCPIPServer policy in the toolkit with the
required SSL settings. This should be created within the default
policy project, (by default this is called 'DefaultPolicies' for
Independent Integration servers) and the port number in the
policy should be left at 0 (zero).
    2. Deploy the default policy project which contains this policy
    to the integration server
    3. Deploy a message flow that has a TCPIPServer input node that
specifies the required port number. The TCIPServer node will
inherit the remaining properties (other than port number) from
    the Default.TCPIPServer policy
