APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Oracle Restore failed when vSnap
    server transport encryption was enabled. The error message is as
    follows:
    
    ERROR,1670217274924,Mon 5 Dec 2022 05:14:34
    UTC,2,CTGGA4030,[Oracle_server] Failed to mount share
    /mnt/spp/vpool1_fs15063/9_11_60_104.
    
    The root cause was that the guestapps agent was not upgraded
    from 10.1.11 to 10.1.13.
    
    To determine the actual guestapps agent version, within the
    Oracle server, the following version file can be checked.
    
    cat /tmp/cdm_guestapps_spporarh/version
    
    {"version":"10.1.11.4604","latest":false,"skipUpdate":false,"ins
    talled":true}
    
    Affected versions: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.1 and later
    

Local fix

  • Manually cleanup guestapps deployment directory
    "/tmp/cdm_guestapps_spporarh/" to force upgrade again.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that before upgrades of the
    Oracle agent, log backups will be unscheduled and then the
    upgrade will be applied. After the upgrade has been applied, the
    log backups will be rescheduled. This is to prevent a running
    log backup from interfering with the upgrade process.
