APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • This problem may occur when the Data Collector host
    machine, and the storage devices it is monitoring, do not
    have synchronized times. Such as if the system times
    are out of sync by 5 minutes or more.
    
    When data collection deltas are not calculated for Spectrum
    Virtualize family of products (such as Storwize) it results in
    the PM data being considered as a first data collection which
    then skips the delta calculation, and therefore no Perf data is
    being calculated.  And the SI GUI shows the Performance
    as Task Expired.

Local fix

  • Suggestion to review and confirm the Data Collector host
    machine, and the storage devices it is monitoring, have
    synchronized times. Suggest using a Network Time
    Protocol (NTP) server to ensure the time set on the host
    machine and storage devices are in sync.
