Error description
When viewing the "internal resources - virtual machines" under an ESX server's page in Storage Insights, the "health summary" widget shows counts of virtual machines with their corresponding health condition. In an observed case, the following summary counts were displayed: 45 Normal 6 Warning 0 Error 2 Unknown This should result in a total of 53 devices displayed in the table view immediately below. However, the table contained only 43 virtual machine entries, all of which show a status of "normal". Additionally, on the left side of that same page in SI, you can see under Internal Resources - Virtual Machines a (correct) count of 53, with a warning icon (orange ! in a circle). This discrepancy is confusing and misleading in several ways, including: 1. The counts in the summary widget up top do not mount the count in the table below 2. None of the VMs reporting to be in warning or unknown state are displayed, so the user has absolutely zero evidence of which VMs are not "normal" ____________________________________________________ The defect is against component: 5608TPCSI Server/Manager build/release: 5.4.x Problem as described by customer: confusing VMware status reporting in Storage Insights Initial customer impact (low/med/high): med
