IT41674: GLOBAL OVERRIDE OF A UDP DOESN'T WORK FOR NON-STRING DATA TYPES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the user defined property on a flow is not a string data
  type, then changing its value through WebUI/REST API  throws
  java.lang.ClassCastException.
  
  For example, if a UDP is a Boolean with a value of `false`, and
  we invoke
  `/apply-global-udp-override?name=property1&value=true`, then
  type value is not preserved as boolean,  it is instead turned
  into a string with a value of the four-character string "true"
  and that throws  java.lang.ClassCastException error.

  All users of IBM App Connect Enterprise V11 and V12 who uses
  User Defined Property.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  java.lang.ClassCastException is thrown while accessing a user
  defined property of non-string type which has overriden  through
  WebUI/RestAPI.
  
  For example, If the value of a UDP of type Boolean with a
  default value of 'false' is changed to 'true' via WebUI, and
  then tried to access it  via Java Compute node, it throws
  java.lang.ClassCastException.
  

Problem conclusion

• Product is now modified so that it will no longer throw error
  while accessing a non-string UDP that is overridden via WebUI.
