Error description

  • If a backup-archive client node has a backup or archive file
space for the root / directory and replication failover is
enabled, then auto deploy will fail with warning message
    ANS2120W.

When this problem occurs, a message to reply Y or N
is continuously appended to the dsmsched.log file until the
scheduler process is stopped or the file system is full.

    Example from dsmsched.log:
    -------------------
ANS2120W The last store operation date reported
    by the server <server_name>
of 00/00/0 00:00:00 UTC does not match the last
store operation date of <date> <time> UTC stored by
the client for the filespace /.
Continue (Yes (Y)/No (N)) The only valid responses
are characters from this set: [Y, N]
The character '#' stands for any decimal integer.
The only valid responses are characters from
    this set: [Y, N]
The character '#' stands for any decimal integer.
The only valid responses are characters from
    this set: [Y, N]
    ... <the latter message repeats continuously>
    -------------------

Local fix

  • Rename or remove tsmnrtable.DB in backup-archive client
    install directory before upgrade runs.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is fixed so that the deployment script responds 'Y'
in response to ANS2120W. The deployment continues.

By necessity, the fix for this problem undoes the fix for
previous APAR IT37344. The latter APAR affects the case when the
file system is full, and automatic deployment cannot continue. A
new fix for IT37344 will be considered for a subsequent release.
