IT40782: FILE INDEXING REQUIRES SETTINGS ON REDHAT LINUX THAT HAVE BEEN DEPRECATED

Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus file indexing requires that the LVM2
  service be disabled. It also requires the use of the
  ?use_lvmetad = 0? line in the /etc/lvm/lvm.conf file.
  
  When the ?use_lvmetad? option is not set correctly, the
  following error is shown when running the TEST functionality
  ?LVM has been configured to use the metadata daemon which is not
  support by IBM Spectrum Protect Plus agents.
  
  Set the value of use_lvmetad in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf to 0.?
  Beginning with RedHat version 8, this service and option have
  been deprecated per the following RedHat documentation:

  LVM no longer uses the lvmetad daemon for caching metadata, and
  will always read metadata from disk. LVM disk reading has been
  reduced, which reduces the benefits of caching.
  
  Previously, autoactivation of logical volumes was indirectly
  tied to the use_lvmetad setting in the lvm.conf configuration
  file. The correct way to disable autoactivation continues to be
  setting auto_activation_volume_list in the lvm.conf file.
  
  IBM Spectrum Protect Plus file indexing on Linux needs to be
  updated to not require this deprecated option.

Local fix

• Add the ?use_lvmetad = 0? line in the /etc/lvm/lvm.conf file as
  a temporary work around.
