APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The automatic deployment of a Backup/Archive client software via
    Operations Center will fail if the "TCPServeraddress" option in
    the client's system option file is set to an IP address/FQDN
    different from the Spectrum Protect server's high-level address
    (the one set with server command : 'SET SERVERHLADDRESS' on
    Server side and displayed with QUERY STATUS command) and if the
    client is unable to connect to the server's high-level address.
    The setup.log will report the following exception:
    
    ANE4246E The Setup Script failed to start the Deployment Manager
    program. Connection test failed with error level is 8.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed so when for any reasons the client
    doesn't have access to this hub server the update manager will
    use
    TCPSERVERADDRESS (besides TCPPORT and NODENAME) settings from
    the local dsm.opt.
