IT39811: TAGGED SCHEDULED BACKUP OF VMS FAILS WITH ANS2635E AND ANS9377E

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When tagged schedules are used for VM backups, the schedule can
  fail with following error messages in the dsmerror.log:
  
  ANS2635E The vCloud Suite plug-in runtime library encountered an
  internal error.
  ANS9377E No virtual machine is specified on the Backup VM
  command or the virtual machine domain list could not be
  processed.
  
  A trace with trace class VM from backup shows:

  not been completely created Please see the server log to find
  more detail regarding exact cause of the failure.
  
  The failure happens when a VM was deleted from the vCenter after
  the schedule started, but before the first VM started its actual
  backup.

Local fix

• If possible, disable tagging schedules and use classic
  schedules.
  To achieve this, set following option in the datamover dsm.opt
  file:
  vmtagdatamover no

Problem conclusion

• The issue has been fixed, so the backup operation will continue
  if a VM was deleted during tag inventory process.
