Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Oracle job fails with this error seen
    
    in the job log:
    
    CTGGA2073,Failed to perform backup of db instance
    oracle.server.com oraclehome on application server YourOracle :
    Failed to retrieve output.json from YourOracle. e=No such file.
    
    The problem occurs because of how ClientAliveCountMax and
    ClientAliveInterval are set in the oracle server's
    
    etc ssh sshd_config file. If ClientAliveCountMax is set to 0
    then ClientAliveInterval must be set to 360 or greater

Local fix

  • If ClientAliveCountMax is set to 0 in  etc ssh sshd_config, then
    ClientAliveInterval
    
    must be set to a value greater than or equal to 360.

Problem conclusion

  • SSH servers may be configured to close connections after a
    period of time with no traffic. Previously IBM Spectrum Protect
    Plus was sending keep alive messages to the server every 5
    minutes. This was handling servers configured to close
    connections after 5 minutes or more. Now IBM Spectrum Protect
    Plus will send the message every minute and that will handle the
    cases of servers configured to close connections after 1 or more
    minutes.
