Error description

  • mqsiextractcomponents command is failing on Windows when ran
    against a broker back up file from non-Windows  platform
    containing single colon (:) character in DSN name  as the
    character ':' is not supported in Windows and hence the command
    is failing to create the directory.
    
    
    The command throws the error  "BIP2172E: An error occurred
    while locking the registry file '?\C:\ProgramData\IBM\MQSI\regi
    stry\xxx\CurrentVersion\DSN\xxxx:yyyy\Password.dat': The filenam
    incorrect."

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of App Connect Enterprise V11.0 and V12.0 using
    mqsiextractcomponents command to migrate non-windows broker
    backup to Windows.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Windows on x86 platform, Windows on x86-64 platform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When a non-windows broker back up containing DSN with single
    colon (:) in it is migrated to Windows, mqsiextractcomponents
    command will fail with error "BIP2172E: Error occured while
    locking the registry. the file name incorrect", as single colon
    in the directory/folder name is not supported on Windows.
