Error description

does not find any of the databases.

The job log does not indicate any error or helpful message :

Further investigation showed the problem is due to the Oracle
Inventory pointer file /etc/oraInst.loc to be bigger than the
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus enforced limit of 256 bytes.
That limitation should not be needed for the default location
for the Oracle Inventory pointer file.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.x

Additional Keywords: SPP, SPPLUS, TS006570251, oracle, pointer,
                         config

Local fix

  • Ensure /etc/oraInst.loc does not exceed 256 bytes.
