IT38053: UPDATES AND HOTFIX MANAGEMENT CHECK TAKES LONG TIME

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After log in into the Administrative console, the check for
    updates in section Updates and Hotfix Management takes long time
    for IBM Spectrum Protect Server which do not have internet
    access. The timeout is about 15 minutes or less.
    
    Eventually after this timeout the Administrative Console will
    present the option to perform a manual ISO update.

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Administrative Console has been
    enhanced to check for connections to the update repository prior
    to attempting to collect update information.  The connection
    check should take approximately 1 minute.   If the connection
    check fails, the Administrative Console's "Updates and hotfix
    management" screen should be enabled for local ISO update.
