• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus backups of Microsoft SQL Server
  databases and Microsoft Exchange databases may run consecutive
  base backups with the following failure.
  
  DETAIL,<timestamp>,2,CTGGA3713,[<DBServerHost>] File
  [WN93045AV\ONEINTRANETA\DBA\DBA.mdf] runs as base backup reason:
  failed to read volume journal data
  
  Command Log from Application server.
  <timestamp> [0x00002304] ERROR sqlvdiwrapper - Failed to read
  journal data of volume
  [\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy114], error
  [(1181, The journal entry has been deleted from the journal.)],
  base backup may need to be forced
  

Local fix

• Reset Journal on drive which is running as base.
  Example below is R Drive.
  Open Windows Command Prompt(Run As Administrator)
  fsutil usn deletejournal /D r:
  fsutil usn createjournal m=0x20000000 a=0x4000000 r:
  fsutil usn queryjournal r:

Problem conclusion

• Fixed an issue where the change tracking failure for one
  database was causing base backup for other databases. After
  applying the fix the base backup will be limited to only the
  database that was affected by the change tracking failure.
