IT37945: HYPER-V VM BACKUP FAILURE DUE TO FAILED ADD DISK TO CLUSTER

Error description

  • Hyper-V VMs backup failed on IBM  Spectrum Protect Plus with
    following error found in job log:
    
    CTGGA2649,Backup of virtual machine (VM) XXXXX has failed.
    Error:
    
    Failed to create hypervisor clustered volume. Reason: Failed to
    add disk to cluster.
    
    During hyper-V backup the backup disks are created and mapped to
    the hyper-V hosts,
    
    but fail when mapping to the Hyper-V cluster. The primary cause
    is the disk being
    
    in a bad state between adding it as cluster resource and adding
    it as a cluster shared
    
    volume.  In some environments a delay between those steps is
    needed to prevent this
    
    failure.  Clean up process also doesn't delete these failed
    disks. Manual clean up is need
    
    to delete failed disks.
