Error description

  • The connection to LDAP server may become dead and unusable if
    the integration node, configured to use LDAP for administration
    security, is kept idle for a long period of time. This may block
    connections to the integration node till it restarts.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When using LDAP for administration security in ACE, the
    connection to LDAP server may become dead and unusable if the
    integration node is kept idle for a long period of time. This
    may block connections to the integration node till it restarts.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A new property named ldapIdleTimeout is introduced which can be
    set in the node.conf.yaml or server.conf.yaml(for stand-alone
    integration servers) under RestAdminListener section. The value
    is specified in milliseconds and it signifies the allowed idle
    period of time after the last LDAP operation. If no LDAP
    activity is performed and the idle period of time is exceeded
    then the LDAP connection is closed. A new connection will be
    made when an LDAP authentication or authorization attempt is
    made after the idle period.  The default value of the property
    is 0  which means 'never close connection'.
    
    e.g: The following is a setting to close LDAP connection when it
    is idle for more than 1 hour.

      ldapIdleTimeout: 3600000
