Error description

  • If an optional property on a Java user define node is promoted
to the subflow/flow level, and no value is provided for the
property, then the setXXX(String) method on the node for the
promoted property will be called with the value "NULL" or
"NULL[undefined]" depending on fix pack. At v10 and earlier this
method would not be called during the initial deploy, and then
would subsequently be called with an empty string on each
    restart of the flow.

This APAR changes the behaviour so that the empty string will be
provided to the setXXX(String) method rather than "NULL" or
    "NULL[undefined]".

Local fix

  • Change the UDN to handle being given a value of "NULL" or
    "NULL[undefined]" correctly.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If an optional property on a Java user defined node is promoted
to the subflow/flow level, and no value is provided for the
property, then the setXXX(String) method on the node for the
promoted property will be called with the value "NULL" or
"NULL[undefined]" depending on fix pack level. With IBM
Integration Bus v10 and earlier this method would not be called
during the initial deploy, and then would subsequently be called
with an empty string on each restart of the flow.
