  retention of 3 days. Any on-demand restore job is not in running
  
  or pending state and not in Active Resources will be deleted
  after 3 days.

  The user has no option to change this property from IBM

Problem conclusion

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Global Preferences screen has been
  enhanced to provide a "On-demand recovery job retention" option.
  This option defines the number of days to retain on-demand
  restore jobs before jobs are removed.  The default is 3 days.
