IT37010: REGISTERING THE SAME VADP NUMEROUS TIMES CAUSES EXHAUSTION ON THE VADP

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus validates if the VADP is already
  registered by pushing a microservice package to the VADP and
  checks whether the VADP was already registered.
  
  If the VADP is already registered, an error is thrown. Since the
  VADP was reinstalled, a rollback directory is created on the
  VADP. The accumulation of these rollback directories causes the
  VADP file system to become full.

Problem conclusion

• A new step was added to the start of the VADP installation
  process that checks to ensure that a VADP with the same version
  is not already installed on the desired target VADP. This
  ensures that multiple rollbacks are not created for the same
  VADP.
