APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • All forms of IBM Spectrum Protect clients or solutions based on
    direct use of IBM Spectrum Protect API can experience failures
    caused by a crash within API due to undersized stack memory.
    
    Diagnosing the issue further:
    
    Symptoms will vary depending on application. All will show a
    backup failure or the client itself will crash.
    On Windows one can see something like this in the Application
    Event Log:
    ...

    P7: c00000fd
    
    Where P7 value of c00000fd denotes Stack Overflow error.
    Dump analysis will show a stack dump like:

Problem conclusion

  • Now IBM Spectrum Protect  API does not crash during TDP Exchange
    restore from VM VSS backup
