Error description

  • If the Queue manager associated with a multi-instance
integration node goes down then the standby Queue manager in the
secondary node immediately become active. The integration node
running as the active instance detects that the QueueManager is
down and so it attempts to stop all the integration servers
associated with it and once all the integration servers stops
the fail over completes. An integration server get stopped only
after all the active transactions of the message flows
completes. In some scenarios an active transaction can take a
very long time preventing the fail over to complete on time.

Problem conclusion

  • The product now provides an option for immediate fail over of
mulit-instance broker under an environment variable
'MQSI_IMMEDIATE_FAILOVER'. Once this environment variable is
set, mulit-instance broker get failed over immediately.
