IT36773: ODBC ERROR CONNECTING TO ORACLE INTERNET DIRECTORY USING LDAP

Error description

• When attempting to use the DataDirect Oracle ODBC connection
  property LDAPDistinguishedName in order to retrieve Oracle
  database connection information from Oracle Internet Directory
  (OID), the following error is reported by the ODBC
  driver:
  
  BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State ''HY000''; Native
  Error Code '2733'; Error Text ''[unixODBC][IBM][ODBC Oracle
  Wire Protocol driver]Unable to dynamically load client DLL
  libUKldap95.so.''.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When attempting to use the DataDirect Oracle ODBC connection
  property LDAPDistinguishedName in order to retrieve Oracle
  database connection information from Oracle Internet Directory
  (OID), the following error is reported by the ODBC driver:

Problem conclusion

• An additional DataDirect ODBC LDAP library is now provided with
  the product to enable the retrieval of Oracle ODBC connection
  information from Oracle Internet Directory (OID).
  
  To configure the driver to retrieve its Oracle database
  connection information from LDAP, configure the ODBC data source
  to specify the host name and port number of the LDAP server
  (rather than the Oracle database itself) and then set the
  LDAPDistinguishedName connection property to the location in the
  LDAP directory information tree where the database net service
  name string was registered. Do not set the ServiceName
  connection property in the odbc.ini file. The driver will
  connect to the LDAP server, fetch the Oracle database connection
  details and then establish the connection to the database.
