Error description

  • The following error message may be seen when committing or
rolling back a message flow transaction that involves an ODBC
    access to an Informix database:

    BIP2322E: Database error: SQL
State 'HYC00'; Native Error Code '-11092'; Error Text
    '[Informix][Informix ODBC Driver]Driver not capable.'.

This can occur if the Informix database does not have logging
enabled. The solution is to enable logging.
For example, create the database with a buffered log:
    CREATE <database> WITH BUFFERED LOG;

However, it may not always be possible for a
user to enable logging on an Informix database, particularly an
old legacy database. Therefore this APAR will provide an
environment variable option to allow the user to choose to
ignore the -11092 Informix error when committing or rolling
back a transaction, so that the system log does not get flooded
    with these errors.

Local fix

  • Enable database logging if possible.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The following error message may be seen when committing or
rolling back a message flow transaction that involves an ODBC
    access to an Informix database:

BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State 'HYC00'; Native Error Code
    '-11092'; Error Text '[Informix][Informix ODBC Driver]Driver not
    capable.'.

This can occur if the Informix database does not have logging
enabled. The solution is to enable logging.
For example, create the database with a buffered log:

    CREATE <database> WITH BUFFERED LOG;

However, it may not always be possible for a user to enable
logging on an Informix database, particularly an old legacy
database. Therefore this APAR will provide an environment
variable option to allow the user to choose to ignore the -11092
Informix error when committing or rolling back a transaction, so
that the system log does not get flooded with these errors.

Problem conclusion

  • A new environment variable MQSI_ODBC_INFORMIX_NO_TRXN_LOGGING
has been added. If this environment variable is set to any
value, the Informix native error -11092 will be ignored if
returned for a failed ODBC commit or rollback.
