Error description

  • Storage Insights performance monitoring jobs have been observed
to not restart, after monitoring tasks have failed over from
one data collector agent to another.
It is normal for jobs to
be assigned to a different data collector agent when the first
one is unavailable for any reason; this APAR addresses a
situation where the jobs transfer to a different data collector
agent, but the jobs then do not start, which results in gaps in
data being collected for storage devices.
    Internally, the
monitoring jobs are shown to time out:
    Caused by:
    com.ibm.tpc.perf.pdc.PdcCollectorReceiveTimeoutException:
Statistics collection for <device_name> timed out after 300
    seconds because the
collector agent did send data in the allocated time. (timeout:
    300000)
