Local fix

  • Replace the description under the heading
"To configure the data mover on Linux using systemd, complete
the following steps:" in the article
"Setting up Linux data mover nodes"
    t/t_ve_cfg_setdmnodes_manually_linux.html)
    with the following procedure:

    1)
Copy the updated file /etc/systemd/system/dsmcad.service to
    /etc/systemd/system/dsmcad@PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM.service with
    file permissions 664.

    2)
    In the file
    "/etc/system/system/dsmcad@PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM.service"
    change the line:
    -------------------------
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/dsmcad
    -------------------------
.... to read (as one line):
    ----------------------------------------
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/dsmcad -servername=%i
     -optfile=/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.%i.opt
    --------------------------------------------------

The %i is a special variable which will be set when running
systemctl with "pre-at" part of the unit file name, the "at"
    character, and the desired value.

    3)
Make sure that you have the PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM stanza in your
/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.sys file and that it contains
an ERRORLOGNAME and SCHEDLOGNAME specific for node
    PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM.

    4)
Make sure you have the file
    /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM.opt
    referencing the SERVERName PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM.

    5)
Make sure that no dsmcad is running which uses the NODEName
    PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM.

    6)
Run the following commands to configure and enable the service
    to automatically start on boot:
    systemctl start dsmcad@PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM
    systemctl status dsmcad@PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM
    systemctl enable dsmcad@PREFIX_DATACENTER_DM
