IT36134: Vi editor key bindings unavailable within the runmqsc console

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Runmqsc uses the libedit libraries to provide command completion
  and history functionality. These libraries offer the ability to
  enable vi-style key bindings as follows:
  
     1. create .editrc file in user home directory.
     2. edit above file and add following line:
           "bind -v"
  
  However this configuration was not honored when runmqsc was
  launched.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  This behavior was caused by a defect in the supplied libedit
  libraries, which prevented the .editrc file being read correctly
  from the user's home directory.
  

Problem conclusion

• The libedit libraries supplied with IBM MQ have been updated to
  a level which addresses this issue, under APAR IT37463 for IBM
  9.1 and APAR IT37074 for IBM 9.2.
